Dr. Charles Tozzer, DDS


Dr. Tozzer graduated from Emory University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then attended University of North Carolina School of Dentistry where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1979. He holds dental licenses in North Carolina and California. He is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, California Dental Association, Orange County Dental Society, Irvine Medical-Dental Society, Irvine Chamber of Commerce and the Orange County Implant Study Club.

Dr. Tozzer has conducted lectures both nationally and internationally on Cosmetic Dentistry as well as consulted on the development of educational materials. He's also advised the American Dental Association on the creation of dental software programs.

Dr. Tozzer is the founder of Dental Care for Children and is dedicated to providing free dental care for children. He donates his time, money and dental services to children who would never in receive proper and basic dental care. Dr. Tozzer has received numerous honors and awards for his selfless service to others. He's received community service awards and an honorary Paul Harris Award from the Irvine Rotary Club as well as recognition awards from the cities of Huntington Beach and Irvine, California.

Dr. Austin Wall, DDS


While participating in a Rotary sponsored dental screening, Dr. Wall met Dr. Charles Tozzer and, after joining Irvine Rotary, became the International Chair and then a board member of Dental Care for Children. He has also served as a member of the ADA, CDA and local component as well as the American Association of Endodontists, American Academy of Implantology and Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Wall is originally from San Francisco, where he attended college at CCSF. He served three years in the army in Europe on a break from school before returning home. He joined the San Francisco Fire Department in 1970 and then resumed school, graduating from UCSF, UC Berkeley in 1977.

Dr. David Levitt, DDS


Dr. David Levitt graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 1977. He has an extensive background in implantology, having attended formal training at Loma Linda University, the Medical College of Georgia, and the Misch Institute. He lectures extensively across the United States. 

Dr. Levitt has conducted clinical trials/evaluations for numerous implant products and is a co-contributor to a textbook, along with P.I. Branemark, titled Osseointegration and Esthetics in Single Tooth Rehabilitation and has authored journal articles. Dr. Levitt placed his first implant in 1982 and has performed thousands of implant procedures since then. He lectures extensively at universities and private dental institutes/study club in the US and abroad. He is currently in private practice in Irvine, California and is a clinical consultant for Nobel Biocare USA. 

Dr. John Frerich, DDS


Dr. John Frerich has been involved with Dental Care for Children for over 3 years. Dr. Frerich has his own dental practice in Minnesota and flies in to join us on volunteer trips to Mexico and Haiti.

Dr. Denny Fang, DDS


Dr. Fang is a Board Certified Endodontist (root canal specialist) practicing in Irvine, California. He obtained his DDS degree from UCLA and completed his endodontic residency training from University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Fang is also an assistant professor at Loma Linda University.

In addition to his commitment with Dental Care for Children, Dr. Fang is an avid missionary dentist serving with several Christian medical and dental groups. He has served in China, Vietnam, India, Mongolia, Haiti, Mexico, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal and Peru. Dr. Fang enjoys taking his family; wife and three children to the mission sites, a great benefit to educate his youngsters how to care and serve others.

Alan Schechtman


Alan Schechtman has been in the construction management business for over 25 years. He opened up his own construction company 12 years ago called West Coast Home Improvement which specializes in home remodeling. Alan is looked upon as an expert in his industry and has served as a construction defect analyst for Grant Genevieve and Burrata in Orange County for the past 5 years.

Alan became involved with Dental Care for Children in 2000 and has been devoted to the cause and organization ever since, serving as a board member and dedicated volunteer. He has since attended over 40 volunteer trips to Mexico and 10 trips to Haiti with the organization. 

Ali Jahangiri


Ali Jahangiri has worked professionally in the internet industry for the past decade: pioneering and growing multiple physician-to-patient interactive portals and founding multiple digital media holding companies.

After graduating from the University of California, Irvine in 1997, Ali Jahangiri received his JD from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. He was then recruited by top corporate securities firm Stradling, Yocca, Carlson, & Rauth, in Newport Beach where he began his career practicing corporate securities law. In 2004, Mr. Jahangiri left the practice of law and launched OutClick Media, an internet marketing agency and online publishing company headquartered in Irvine, California.

Ali Jahangiri served as Founder and National Co-Chair of the Aviators for McCain Program and raised over 10M in this capacity. He was appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger in 2009 to the State of California’s Law Revision Commission and appointed in 2010 by Governor Schwarzenegger to the Orange County Fair Board. He also serves on the Board of Overseers at Loyola Law School, the Board of Directors for GenNext and as ambassador to the Samuel Jordan Center at the University of California, Irvine School of Humanities. Ali has been involved with Dental Care for Children since 2010. He has attended 3 volunteer trips to Haiti and has been an integral component to the organizational growth and fundraising efforts of the charity. 

David Cerrie


Dave Cerrie has been one of the most dependable volunteers at Dental Care for Children. He's been active since the very beginning and is the designated "McGyver" on most trips. Dave personally built a lot of the early equipment and gear, scavenging parts where he could and building others from scratch. And he's been "adopted" by a large following of local kids from the orphanages and schools.

Gustavo Jimenez


Gustavo Jimenez has worked in the automotive industry as an automotive electrician for the past 32 years. He had his own company, Southern California Mobile for 13 years and is currently employed as a mechanic for The County of Orange Fleet Department.

Mr. Jimenez has been involved with Dental Care for Children since 1995 and has been an integral component to the team even since; directing Mexico clinics and fabricating and maintaining equipment. 

Koert Takkunen (and friend)


Koert Takkunen has been a fundamental component to the Dental Care for Children team for over 10 years. Mr. Takkunen flies in from Chicago to join us on volunteer trips and was instrumental in starting DCFC's Haiti branch. 

Michelle Rogan


Michelle Rogan has been in the dental industry for over 30 years and has been a valued coordinator with Tozzer Dental in Irvine for over 15 years. Michelle has been heavily involved in the planning and coordination of Dental Care for Children’s volunteer trips for the past 15 years.

Patricia Tozzer


Patricia Tozzer has been involved with Dental Care for Children for more than 20 years. She has overseen the planning and follow-up for countless trips and, though she is over 80 years old, she still attends some clinics. She is known amongst the volunteers as the affectionate “mom” of the crew and makes sure all trips are adequately supplied and volunteers are taken care of.

Get To Know Dr. Tozzer

Dr. Charles “Chuck” Tozzer began Dental Care for Children with a simple concept. Provide free dental services for children that didn't have access to care. From a single clinic at an orphanage in Maneadero, Mexico, the organization now provides eight clinics a year in Mexico, the United States and Haiti.
